Welcome to Tim Vogel's web page for my 28th American Lung Association's Bike Trek Across Maine. This June, I will be riding the 180-mile Bike Trek Across Maine. Also, this year I will be riding the Trek as captain of the team from the REI store in Westbrook, Maine.
I ask for your support for my Trek Across Maine. I appreciate the generosity of all of you who have contributed to my Trek in the past. I also send thanks to those who are contributing to my Trek for the first time.
This year the Bike Trek Across Maine will begin on June 16 at Thomas Point in Brunswick and ride to Bates College in Lewiston, then on June 17 to St. Joseph College in Standish, while on June 18 making its way back to Thomas Point.
I am riding in memory of my grandfather Ray Vogel who died of emphysema, and my mother Elsie Vogel who died of cardio-pulmonary failure. I also ride for Dahlov Aurora Wyatt—my 5-year old granddaughter. May she live many years with healthy lungs.
The Lung Association is working hard to get the Maine Legislature to end the sale of flavored tobacco and vaping products. These entry level products to tobacco addiction must be eliminated.
Your contribution will also support clean and lung health. Events like the Trek—coupled with the critical work done by teams of pulmonary clinicians throughout the state—are indispensable in the work to defeat lung cancer and prevent lung disease. The Pandemic taught us that respiratory issues hit close to home. Either directly or indirectly, we have all been affected by lung-related issues since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
Please make a tax-deductible contribution to help me pass the $550 requirement on the way to reaching my $2,800 fund raising goal. I appreciate your donation. I will think of you during my 180+ mile Trek Across Maine.
Thank you for your generous contribution to the great work of the Trek Across Maine. Tim Vogel
