2021... another year, another virtual Trek Across Maine... my 12th year participating in this great event for a great cause, The American Lung Association. As last year, the event is virtual and my ride will occur the traditional 3-days in June, Father's Day, from my Dad's house. Was a big-plus to sleep in my own bed vs. college dorms.
It has meaning close to my heart due to my mother's COPD battle of many years... that she lost in May of 2011. As we approach Mother's Day, realizing it has been 10 years, I miss her each and every day.
I try not to take things for granted... ever so, in these challenging coronavirus times right now... but being able to breathe without struggling is not something most of us ever think about. I do... certainly riding a bike 180 miles gives me a sense... I am blessed. I am certainly glad to be getting back to some sense of "normal", now post-vacccination (in the clear as of May 1st). Woo hoo!
Please consider supporting me... donations of ANY amount are welcome. My favorite number is 7... I've upped my goal to $10,007. I am sadly without corporate matching this year again, thus I am grateful and thankful for all contributions. I will donate 3 days of my "free" time and am honored to do so. It is always such a fantastic event and fun time!
Please remember that your employer may offer a matching gift program for your donation! The TaxID and address has changed... Be sure to choose the American Lung Association (Tax ID/EIN: 13-1632524, 55 W. Wacker Drive, Suite 1150, Chicago, IL 60601) for the matching gift and remember to include my name and Trekker #524.
With best wishes and thanks,
