We are back at it again! 180 miles in three days raising money for a great cause, the American Lung Association.
The American Lung Association is most known for its work in tackling lung cancer, which makes sense as lung cancer is the #1 cancer killer of both women and men in the United States. Sadly, in the last 39 years, the lung cancer death rate for women has risen 94 percent.
At the same time air pollution continues to pose a serious threat to our nation's health by harming our lung tissue and increasing our risk of lung disease. The American Lung Association works to protect public health from unhealthy air pollution by supporting the Clean Air Act and defending the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's authority to ensure that all Americans have air that is safe and healthy to breathe. This includes encouraging more protective limits on ozone pollution, reducing power plant carbon emissions, and cleaner gasoline and vehicle standards.
I’m not going to lie the ride is fun, the food is great and the company is better. This is a yearly adventure that I look forward to. The fact that I can also use this amazing experience to support such an essential organization is just icing on the cake.
