Boy is this year different! Many of us would just like a do over! Unfortunately Covid-19 has increased the demand for lung research. The American Lung Association has committed $25 million dollars to fight this virus. And although the Trek will be a virtual Trek, I'll still be riding to raise funds to fight this new lung virus.
In the 1984 movie Starman, staring Jeff Bridges, he says, "You humans are at your very best when things are worst." I've always thought that was true. This current crisis just re-enforces my beliefs. Many are sick and out of work and yet people are stepping up in unusual and unexpected ways. I'm hoping you'll take this as an opportunity, if you can to step up and help research into this Covid-19 virus. And all the other work that the American Lung Association does, still needs to be done.
What's not different, is I appreciate your support cheering me on as I ride in my 18th Trek Across Maine for clean air for those who have trouble breathing. Because, when you can't breathe, nothing else matters!
