Hello Everyone:
After two consecutive years of virtual Treks Across Maine, I am excited to once again participate in the 2022 in-person Trek Across Maine over the Father's Day weekend of June 17 - June 19. Sadly, this will be the first Trek during which I will have neither my father participating with me or at the finish to cheer me on, nor my wife Fran who always delivered amazing emotional support. Twenty-two years ago my dad encouraged me to ride the Trek just one year with him. Yet, his consistent encouragement and enthusiasm for the event resulted in my decision to ride in the Trek every year since that inaugural ride in 2000.
How the world has changed during those 22 years since the turn of the century! Yet, what hasn't changed is the American Lung Association's mission to promote healthy air in so may different ways. Moreover, in the years since my first ride, I've grown to admire the staff and volunteers of the American Lung Association in Maine who stage this event as the largest participatory fundraising initiative of any American Lung Association chapter in the nation. The Trek Across Maine is truly Maine's biggest and best family reunion.
The Covid-19 pandemic, and the American Lung Association's ongoing commitment to raise $25 million to address Covid-19 and other emerging viral threats, make this year's event even more meaningful.
Please join me in my efforts to support the ALA by making a personal or corporate tax-deductible contribution.
Thank you in advance for you support!
Lonny
