Every Mile Counts

2020 Trek Across Maine The Trek Across Maine is a multi-day, multi-route option cycling event celebrating its 36th anniversary in 2020. The Trek cycling route will have a start and finish line hosted at the Brunswick Landing with overnight stops at Bates College in Lewiston and Colby College in Waterville. As the largest fundraising event of its kind in the nation for the American Lung Association, the Trek has raised more than $25 million in the past 35 years. Join nearly 2,000 cyclists and 750 volunteers on this one of a kind journey on Father’s Day Weekend.

The Trek Across Maine offers three route options with varying levels of mileage and fundraising. Registration fee is $50 (non-refundable & non-transferable) for each route option. Registration fee does not count toward fundraising minimum.

Children between the ages of 7 - 12 must ride a tandem or tag-a-long bike with adult guardian. All children under the age of 18 must have an adult guardian with them at all times on the route. Child and guardian are both required to meet the fundraising minimum.

What is the Trek Across Maine?

The Trek Across Maine is a multi-day, multi-route option cycling event starting and ending at the Brunswick Recreation Center at the Brunswick Landing. Overnight stops at Bates College in Lewiston and Colby College in Waterville provide a place to rest and relax after each leg of the Trek. Activities, entertainment and food are all a part of the full Trek experience at each location.

With close to 750 volunteers each year, the Trek is fully supported in all areas. Volunteers provide support at rest stops and intersections along the route, as cheerleaders and traffic control at the finish line, and trained medical professionals from Delta Ambulance provide medical support along the route and at each facility throughout the weekend. Bike shops from across the state volunteer their time to make sure your bike holds up just as long as you do as you complete your ride.

The American Lung Association provides housing and meals for all cyclists and volunteers during the weekend (as needed). Housing options still available include: camping (provide your own tent), fieldhouse (provide your own mat) or you may choose to make your own arrangements (hotel, home, friend's house, etc). Shuttle services will be available to some areas hotels if you choose to make your own sleeping arrangements off campus. A complete list of shuttle locations will be shared later this fall.
