06/3/2024: Due to the logistics of Cycle for Air, we needed to make Tiffany a separate fundraising page so she would be registered for the ride. If you don't see your donation below, it was moved to her fundraising page here: http://action.lung.org/goto/TiffanyC. Trek Across Maine is only 11 days away! We are so excited to bring you all along!
5/28/2024: Wow THANK YOU AGAIN to everyone who donated. We hit our goal of $1900! We are so excited to share our journey with you all at Trek Across Maine! Your support means the world to us.
5/20/2024: Thank you to everyone who donated! Thanks to your support, we reached our initial goal of $1100. We really had our doubts when we started thinking about doing this and we are so thankful for everyone's generosity! We still have 23 days until Trek Across Maine so set a new goal of $1900. Together let's eradicate lung diseases!
Tiffany and I are joining thousands of other cyclists and the American Lung Association to raise money to fight lung disease and increase awareness about the importance of lung health.
Last fall a family member was diagnosed with lung cancer. Thankfully her cancer was caught at the early stages, and with surgery, all evidence of cancer has been eradicated. However, we were far more fortunate than most. Lung cancer is typically found too late. There are a variety of reasons for this, be that lack of awareness, patient anxiety, provider bias, or lack of standard screening protocols. Tertiary causes such as Radon exposure are also frequently overlooked and undiscussed with providers.
Noticing the signs of finger clubbing, she demanded a CT scan where they found Stage 1b Adenocarcinoma. All patients should have access to appropriate screening and should have the education to know the symptoms to look out for.
We will be riding in honor of people like my family member and anyone who has been personally touched by lung cancer.
Please join us by donating so that through research, education, and policy changes we can help eliminate barriers to care for a variety of lung diseases.
Thank you in advance for your support!
