I am joining thousands of other cyclists and the American Lung Association to raise money to fight lung disease and increase awareness about the importance of lung health.
Larry Dillenbeck, Dad, Husband, friend, and overall amazing human, passed away from Lung Cancer in 2016. Throughout his care he received incredible support, kindness, and compassion from friends, family and caretakers, and I would love the chance to give back just a fraction of that kindness through fundraising and donation to the American Lung Association.
You may have heard an anecdote or memorable story or two about Larry, or you might be familiar with his sense of humor and incredibly infectious laugh. Perhaps you remember his warm hugs, words of wisdom and Larry-isms. A beloved Bubba, die hard U of M fan, number one dance dad, and lover of road trip adventures and camping. When you think of Larry, “You’ve gotta be kidding me” comes to mind.
"You’ve gotta be kidding me" is exactly what I can imagine him saying to me when I would tell him I’ve been training for the Reach the Beach Ride in OR. This ride takes place on May 18, just after Larry's birthday weekend and the anniversary of his passing. My goal is to complete this ride in support of Lung Cancer Research, The American Lung Association, and for Larry Dillenbeck. Each and every dollar raised will support research, educational programs and advocacy efforts.
I am incredibly thankful to my Dad, and my amazing family, for building, influencing, and supporting me to be the human that I am today.
Please consider donating in support of Lung Cancer and Lung Disease Research, for Larry. Every dollar counts, and is greatly appreciated!
