I am joining thousands of other cyclists and the American Lung Association to raise money to fight lung disease and increase awareness about the importance of lung health.
Both of my parents passed from lung cancer and although they both had quit smoking years before, they knew the damage was done. They expressed their wishes that they hoped their three children would never take up that habit and frettted over having exposed us to years of second hand smoke. I have always been a bicycle rider because of the sense of exploration and freedom it provides and my mother, in the last months of her life, talked to me on several occassions about how she hoped that by having spent so much time on my bike i would avoid her fate. Only time will tell of course and there are many factors that could come into play, but by continuing to ride, i continue to honor both of them and enjoy my sense of exploration and freedom. Plus, I get to ride with new friends on our team and expand the number of people I can bug to go riding.
Please join me in my efforts to make a difference by making a personal or corporate tax-deductible donation.
Thank you in advance for you support!
