I am joining thousands of other cyclists and the American Lung Association to raise money to fight lung disease and increase awareness about the importance of lung health.
Lung disease can take someone's breath away, leaving them unable to work, exercise or play. Growing faster than almost any other major illness, lung disease, including lung cancer, asthma and emphysema is the third leading cause of the death in the United States.
I was born August 2nd, 1977. Quite a bit before my due date of September 27th. I was matured in utero via steroid injections to mature my lungs after it became clear my mom was trying to start labor during the 6th month of pregnancy. Growing up I battled pneumonia at least 16 times in the first 18 years of my life.
Because of my rough start in life I have always valued my lungs probably a little more than most people. I have been fortunate to not be an asthmatic and able to be physically active throughout my life. But knowing my lungs are fragile I have never been tempted to try smoking and my life has been always about helping others.
Please join me in my efforts to make a difference by making a personal or corporate tax-deductible donation.
Thank you in advance for you support!
