I know what it's like to gasp for air. I've battled asthma since I was little. When I was a child, a part of our day to day routine included nightly nebulizer breathing treatments. While I'm grateful to no longer do regular breathing treatments, I still carry, and on occasion use, a resuce inhaler. I value my healthy lungs and never take them for granted.
I also love a juicy challenge. That's why I'm stoked to be joining joining thousands of other cyclists and the American Lung Association to raise money to fight lung disease and increase awareness about the importance of lung health.
Lung disease can take someone's breath away, leaving them unable to work, exercise or play. Growing faster than almost any other major illness, lung disease, including lung cancer, asthma and emphysema is the third leading cause of the death in the United States. The American Lung Association is also doing important work to combat COVID-19.
