My mother died after a long battle with an atypical mycobacterial infection (Mycobacterium kansasii) that took its toll not only on her lungs, but on her mind and spirit. Eventually she succumbed to pulmonary aspergillosis. The ALA has been funding research into this and other pulmonary diseases for over 100 years. The Oregon ALA is working to raise its annual goal of $831,000 by October 11 via this cycling 'Reach the Beach' fundraiser but is only 1/3 of the way there. Ironically, a lung infection, COVID-19, has played havoc with their plans. Please join me in supporting this important organization. Know that it has the highest rating by Charity Navigator so your funds will get to where they are needed. Your money will be stretched, because going forward I will match every donation!
