As you can see, it's been a while since I rode the traditional Clean Air Challenge as a participant in Talkeetna! This year I'm looking forward to experiencing this great Alaskan event from the seat of my new e-bike insteading of staffing or volunteering or riding virtually, and I'm excited to share the weekend experience with the veteran ladies of team Pedal to the Medal!

Like so many families, mine has been impacted by lung disease, especially asthma. I'm riding in memory of my Grandma Dorothy and her mother, Alta, who both suffered lifelong severe lung disease before good treatments existed. I've also lost family to lung cancer and other smoking related diseases, and even tuberculosis.

Growing faster than almost any other major illness, lung disease, including lung cancer, asthma and emphysema is the third leading cause of the death in the United States.

I humbly invite you to join me in supporting the lung disease and clean air research, advocacy, and education work of American Lung Association because truly when you can't breathe, nothing else matters.
