I am joining thousands of other cyclists and the American Lung Association to raise money to fight lung disease, increase air quality, and increase awareness about the importance of lung health.
One of my favorite family members was recently diagnosed with lung cancer. This person is a lifelong non-smoker, active and healthy, and yet the disease still set in. We are hoping the best for this much-loved person, but I want to help more directly.
I will be biking 76 miles from Carlton to the coast. Our team's goal is to raise $3500, and I have a personal goal of raising $2000 to aide lung health. I have started it off with a $150 donation of my own, and some very generous donations have already been made. If you can spare $10, $20, or even $5 to help fight lung disease and increase air quality, please consider donating!
Lung disease can take someone's breath away, leaving them unable to work, exercise or play. Growing faster than almost any other major illness, lung disease, including lung cancer, asthma and emphysema is the third leading cause of the death in the United States.
My own struggle with smoking is a part of this as well; 80 miles across the coast range will be an excellent motivator to continue avoiding nicotene and living a healthy life.
Please join me in my efforts to make a difference by making a personal or corporate tax-deductible donation.
Thank you in advance for you support!
