I am joining thousands of other cyclists and the American Lung Association to raise money to fight lung disease and increase awareness about the importance of lung health.
A lifelong asthmatic, I've been personally impacted with the adverse effects of lung disease since childhood. The American Lung Association has helped people who suffer from breating ailments like asthma, COPD, emphysema, and others in so many ways.
Additionally, as many of you are aware, I recently went through a bit of an accident that nearly took my leg. During rehab the physical therapist set me on a stationary bike to see if I could do it. I was surprised that biking (stationary or not) was still an option after seeing the damage to my leg. After that day I set a goal to get back on my own bike and ride. Goals were met and replaced with new, more difficult ones. My current goal is to ride over 100 miles, from Portland (Tualatin) to the Oregon Coast.
It's such a joy to be a part of an event that is able to combine my love of cycling with a cause that's close to me.
Please join me in my efforts to make a difference by making a personal or corporate tax-deductible donation.
Thank you in advance for your support!
A note about donations: I realize this is the second time I've asked many of you to donate to one of my causes-I'm needy. And while I'm eternally grateful for the help with my leg, I am asking, again, for a little help with this one, but on a smaller scale. $5-$10, maybe $20 or so. $593 if you really feel generous. Small donations help, and sharing this with friends and family can lead to additional help. Again, thank you!
Another note: Mom, quit telling me to bring an inhaler. I'll be sure to bring an inhaler.
