Marieke convinced me to join her and a bunch of other cyclists and the American Lung Association to raise money to fight lung disease and increase awareness about the importance of lung health via the Clean Air Challenge on May 13. We're going to ride 100 miles - an endurance event I haven't done since my <ahem> early 20's.
We took up fat tire biking this winter as a fun way to exercise together so this seemed like a great next step. And it's a fundraiser for a very important cause. I hope you'll consider donating to the cause. From the Lung Association: "Lung disease can take someone's breath away, leaving them unable to work, exercise or play. Growing faster than almost any other major illness, lung disease, including lung cancer, asthma and emphysema is the third leading cause of the death in the United States."
