Dear Family and Friends,
As noted in my email, I am once again riding in this year's Reach the Beach fundraising event for the American Lung Association.
Five years ago I rode the 70 mile course but this year I'll be riding one of the shorter courses, either 25 miles or maybe 50 miles, depending on the range of my new electric bike. Given the limitations of my relatively new pacemaker, I have had to retire my old bike and call upon the electric assist to make riding possible again.
I am riding to support the ALA and to "get back in shape" after 4+ years dealing with all things medical. I am also riding to honor Pat, who provided the essential sag wagon support when I rode in the last two RTB Washington events.
I am joining hundreds of other Washington cyclists to help the ALA raise money to fight lung disease and increase awareness about the importance of lung health. Lung disease is the third leading cause of death in the USA.
So once again (after five years), I asking you to make a tax-deductible donation to "Team Dean" (my own invention, the Monoteam). Any amount helps and is totally appreciated by me and the ALA.
Thank you in advance for you support!
Dean Sampson
