Hello Again.....to family, friends and associates who supported my ride last year in the American Lung Association's Reach the Beach event. And hello to all new recipients of this request for support in the upcoming Washington 2019 version of this ride. On September 28, I will be departing, probably from Elma, headed for Westport, seeking to reach the beach via a 40-50 mile bicycle ride - final distance to be determined by how much training I can get accomplished between now and the ride!
I am riding to help raise funds for the American Lung Association (ALA) and to represent all those who suffer from lung disease. You can support me in my efforts just by donating. Your generosity would mean a lot to me and will mean even more to all those who benefit from the work of the ALA.
My bicycling goal last year was 76 miles (my age) but this year my goal is a bit more moderate....it depends on where I decide to begin riding - 50 miles would be good! I have a more ambitious second goal of matching or exceeding the amount donated last year (by all of you, my generous supporting donors). You provided more than $1,800 to my cause, which made me the 7th largest individual collector of donated funds in the whole ride. I got a bit of special attention for that accomplishment, which I owe completely to all of you.
Donations collected help fund research and provide education and advocacy efforts in the cause of fighting lung disease.

Let’s make sure everyone can benefit from healthy air and lungs. Together we can fight lung disease successfully!
