Cycle For Air starting line

Every Mile Counts

Join us on a mission to make a difference for everyone who breathes. We will be riding back to Astoria on Saturday, May 18, 2024! The route starts on Sauvie Island and ends in the heart of Astoria at the Barbey Maritime Center. There will be four ride lengths: 100m, 63m, 30m, 14m, and the option to Cycle Your Way. This bike ride is perfect as a personal challenge, an opportunity to explore a new route to the coast, and a way to stay active. The in-person and Cycle Your Way options both have amazing support throughout the campaign! We provide superb organization, beautiful routes, numerous social events, regular training challenges, excellent fundraising support, and more!

Reach the Beach Oregon will celebrate its 34th anniversary in 2024. Our mission: to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease is still in hyper-drive. The dollars our riders are raising are making a difference at this critical time.

Reach the Beach Oregon encourages our cyclists to stay active and enjoy time on their bike while supporting the work of the American Lung Association. Please review the details below regarding how you can participate.

  • Ride in Person: Join us for one of the best supported rides in the PNW by selecting one of our four breathtaking route options and enjoy an unforgettable finish line experience next to the Astoria-Megler bridge. A registration fee applies to all in-person registrants and there is a minimum fundraising requirement of $200. Incentive gifts start at $200 and will include a Reach the Beach finisher medal and 2024 T-shirt.
  • Cycle Your Way: Plan your own ride on a route and date that works best for you. There is a reduced registration fee for Cycle Your Way participants. You are eligible for the same incentive gifts as those who ride in-person on May 18th, starting with the finisher medal and T-shirt for raising just $200 for the American Lung Association.

Join us on Facebook for exciting event updates and on our Group Page for conversations and camaraderie with other Cyclists.

Why We Need You in the Fight

In March, the American Lung Association launched a $25 million initiative to end COVID-19 and defend against future respiratory virus pandemics. At the same time, we're continuing our advocacy work to support clean air and redoubling our long-term commitments to lifesaving research.
