"An ounce of 'I MUST DO SOMETHING'
is worth a pound of 'SOMETHING MUST BE DONE'"
WHY I RIDE: I began riding American Lung Association rides in 1994 with Reach The Beach - Oregon. My two sons suffer from asthma. This was why I signed up for the 1994 RTB. One of the years my older son rode with me but he forgot to bring his inhaler. When we rode RTB previously he would ride circles around me. On this ride he had a full blown asthma episode and had to stop at an ambulance stationed just 5 miles from the finish. I was unsure if he could even make it. This was an eye-opener for me. We completed the ride but we rode at his pace.
I learned at the beginning of 2020 that not only my sons suffer from Asthma, but I do, too. I was diagnosed with Allergy Induced Asthma!
You can support me in my efforts just by donating. Your generosity would mean a lot to me and all those who benefit from the work of the American Lung Association.
Lung disease is on the rise and your donation would help fund research and provide education and advocacy efforts. You can help me ride for a better tomorrow ... one turn-of-the-crank at a time,
Together we can fight lung disease successfully! To help support my efforts, the work of the American Lung Association and to change lives. I encourage you to make a donation to the American Lung Association in my name. Thanks for the consideration ... John
