I've been on 2 wheels since I was 5 years old. I love the freedom that bicycle riding brings to my life, and I value the open spaces and clean air that I am able to enjoy here in Oregon. Unfortunately, clean air isn't available to everyone, and lung disease (think: cancer, fibrosis, asthma) is more prevalent than it should be. Because of that, I am teaming up with several of my friends in our Sasquatch Athletic Club to fundraise for the American Lung Association by riding our bikes from Portland all the way to the Pacific Ocean in May!
This year I am riding for my brother-in-law John. He was recently diagnosed with cancer, when tumors were found in his kidney, arm, heel and lung. John is an Ironman athlete and an accomplished marathoner; until his diagnosis he was on track to run 50 marathons in 50 states by the end of 2020! This year, my lungs will be his lungs.
I'll do the hard part by riding 100+ miles over the Coast Range mountains. Will you do the easy part and make a donation on John's behalf? My goal is $1,500. Any amount you can give would be awesome, and is tax-deductible. See the "Donate Now" button near the top of this page.
