Let’s make sure everyone can benefit from healthy air and lungs.
I am once again riding to support the ALA. I am late getting started with my fundraising this year due to a family health situation that kept Scott and myself in the UW Medical Center Thoracic ICU visiting on and off for over three months. While there we witnessed countless people with lung disease that was threatening their lives. Many young people with young families. It was heartbreaking to see the number of transplant patients. It made it even more clear the research that needs to be done to help these people live long and full lives.
I am once again riding to represent all those who suffer from lung disease, especially those who are close to my heart. My dad, Lew Hampton, passed away in December of 2015 from an incurable lung disease likely contracted during his time in the military. Our dear friend, Mark Landers (the namesake of our team) passed away in December of 2014 from Non-Smoker's Lung Cancer.
This is our fifth year riding in this event and our passion continues to grow. You can support me in my efforts just by donating. Your generosity would mean a lot to me and all those who benefit from the work of the American Lung Association.
Lung disease is on the rise and your tax-deductible donation would help fund research and provide education and advocacy efforts. One pedal at a time, you can help me ride for a better tomorrow. The American Lung Association does an excellent job of using almost all of it's donations to support research, health and education and support programs for victims of lung disease. That is always an important factor for me when I donate to a charitable organization.
