I am joining thousands of other cyclists and the American Lung Association to raise money to fight lung disease and increase awareness about the importance of lung health.

Lung disease is growing faster than almost any other major illness. lung disease, including lung cancer, asthma and emphysema is the third leading cause of the death in the United States. My family has suffered from lung disease. I ride in memory of my dad, who had COPD, and it eventually took his breath away. My sister was given antibiotics and suffered an allergic reaction: Stevens Johnson syndrome, which blistered her airway and lungs and now suffers from COPD symptoms.
