I am joining thousands of other cyclists and the American Lung Association to raise money to fight lung disease and increase awareness about the importance of lung health. When I first rode Reach the Beach, I found it to be a good cause. Having Asthma myself, it made sense to be a part of this cause.
This will be my 6th year riding Reach the Beach and my second year riding in memory of my Dad, Dave Smith.
I am saddened by the loss of Dave to lung cancer and hopeful thanks to the work The American Lung Association does. Dave was exposed to Agent Orange while serving in Vietnam. Within two years of being diagnosed, Lung Cancer took its toll and took Dave from us.
Dave taught me a lot about being a good person, having a sense of humor about things and looking out for others. He spent his career serving others. Now it’s my turn in my own small way to try to make a difference in the fight for clean air and against lung disease.
Please make a donation to support the work done by American Lung Association, to honor or remember a loved one or to help cheer me on as I take on 101 miles to Reach the Beach.
Thank you in advance for your support!
