Christmas 2022 was was quite a bit different for my family. While many were celebrating at home with loved ones, my Mother was in the hospital undergoing treatment for persistent shortness of breath. One week later she was diagnosed with stage IV lung cancer.

This is heartbreaking and devastating for my family. My Mom has never been a smoker so it's so hard to believe it can be happening. It's almost like a bad dream.

It is with this news at the front of my mind that I am doing the Reach the Beach Ride 2023. May 2023 I am committing myself to riding my bike 100 miles, from Sauvie Island to Astoria, Oregon in the name of my Mother. She's got a long battle ahead of her with this disease.

I have a fundraising goal of $2500; $25 for every mile I ride.

This will be my 3rd year doing this ride, but this year it is different. It is personal for me.

Please help me raise money for lung cancer research. 10-20% of lung cancer can occur in people who have never smoked! I didn’t realize this statistic until it became real for my family.
