Hello friends, Its that time of year again when I reach out to all my friends, neighbors and former work associates in my attempt to raise money for a worthy and noble cause, The American Lung Association. No one should struggle to breathe. But people with breathing problems have to struggle every day. As someone diagnosed with exercised induced asthma I appreciate what it is like for those with much more serious issues than mine. That is why I am participating in Reach the Beach. This year will be a little different from previous years as I will be riding as part of the Portland Bycicle Club.
I make this appeal to each and every of you, to think how fortunate you are to be in good health and then donate to my ride. Any donation made this year to my effort would be very much appreciated considering the terrible financial circumstances that we all face. I have set a modest goal this year of $1500 but I would really like to excede that, possibly even double it. Help me, along with the American Lung Association, to support the FIGHT FOR AIR.
As you know from previous years the ride is 104 miles and it takes place on October 11 this year unlike in May as in previous years. It will be my 10th year and hopefully not my last. I usually consider this ride my birthday ride where I ride the number of miles equal to my age with a few extra thrown in. Because of the unfortunate circumstances facing all of us this year the ride is happening 5 months after my birthday. I will also be riding Reach the Beach Washington in September this year. Thank you for joining this important fight for children with asthma, teens who are pressured to start smoking, people with lung cancer and emphysema, and everyone who wants to breathe healthy air in our communities. To donate just go to Reach the Beach 2019 and click on the donate tab. Enter my name and it will take you to my page. You can then make your donation.
Thank you again in advance for any amount you can donate.
