In 2021, both of my parents died. My mom, a lifelong smoker, died from lung cancer. My father succeeded in quitting cigarettes in 2000 - but the damage of decades of smoking was done, and COPD and emphysema drastically lowered the quality of the final decades of his life. In honor of their memories, I proudly serve on the American Lung Association's Local Leadership Board, donate to the Lung Association, and work to further their mission here in Alaska.
As a person with 13 years of sobriety under my belt, I believe people can change, but that the support from organizations like the Quit Line (funded by the American Lung Association) is absolutely critical.
I'll be riding 26 miles in May in support of this mission. I humbly ask that you consider supporting me in this effort.
Thank you!
