Why do I race? I lost my Mom to Lung Cancer. If I'd been more aware of how easy it was to get an annual LDCT when my Mom was still around, I would probably be at this event with her instead of BEGGING people to get screened. They caught her cancer in the emergency room, too late, like many lung cancers that are diagnosed. I encourage everyone to know their risks, get an annual LDCT if they are eligible, and encourage those they love to stop tobacco use.
And hug your Mom!
Let's clear the air together.

We are joining thousands of other cyclists, virtual participants, and the American Lung Association to raise awareness and money to fight lung disease and increase awareness about the importance of lung health.
OHSU is also proud to participate in this event. We are excited to work closely with Columbia Memorial Hospital to provide resources at this year's finish line. Please join us and Columbia Memorial Hospital at the finish line as we discuss lung health, lung cancer screening, and tobacco cessation!
If you are inclined, please join our team, meet us at the beach, or find another way to support the Reach the Beach event!
See you at the Beach, and thank you in advance for your support!
