The American Lung Association is closely monitoring the spread of COVID-19, following guidance from state and local health authorities, and the advice from our medical experts throughout this evolving public health situation. The safety of our riders, their families, our volunteers, our staff, and the communities we ride through is our top priority. Stay up-to-date on the latest event information by checking your email and frequently visiting our website. We will keep you posted as information becomes available. All riders are welcome to join us through Ride Your Way with a ride in your own community or another physical activity of your choice. We look forward to supporting you as you ride joyfully, safely, and in good health!

The Reach the Beach OR will celebrate its 31st anniversary in 2021. Our mission: to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease is in hyper-drive as we face down COVID-19 through our COVID-19 Action Initiative. The dollars our riders are raising are making a difference at this critical time.
Reach the Beach OR encourages our cyclists to stay active and enjoy time on their bike (practicing safe social distancing) while supporting the work of the American Lung Association. Please review the details below regarding how you can participate.
Ride Your Way Plan your own ride on a route and date that works best for you. There is no registration fee for Ride Your Way participants and you are eligible for all the same incentive gift awards as those who ride in-person on May 15th, starting with the finishers medal and tee-shirt for raising just $150 for the American Lung Association.
Ride in Person - by selecting one of our four exciting route options. Please note that all of our routes may be subject to a maximum capacity cap due to local and state COVID-19 restrictions and ALA safety protocols. If we are required to limit participation on any or all routes, priority will be given to the highest overall fundraisers, riding as part of a team or individually. A registration fee applies to all in-person registrants and there is a minimum fundraising requirement of $150. Incentive Gifts begin at $150 and will include a Reach the Beach Finishers’ medal and 2021 tee-shirt.
Reach the Beach Oregon has the perfect ride length for riders of all abilities. Learn more about our in-person routes by clicking the button for each route option below. Riders can also create their own route in honor of Reach the Beach with Ride Your Way.
Get those miles in! Please remember to practice social distancing while spending time on your bike and working towards achieving your mileage or training goal. Daily exercise is key to both lung health and mental health.

In order to make this year’s event as interactive as possible, we’ve created a Reach The Beach OR Strava Club! Strava is a free application you can download on your smart phone to track your miles as you cycle in support of the American Lung Association.
In March, the American Lung Association launched a $25 million initiative to end COVID-19 and defend against future respiratory virus pandemics. At the same time, we're continuing our advocacy work to support clean air and redoubling our long-term commitments to lifesaving research.
