Bike Trek now October 1-4, 2020!
PLEASE, see the donation link here and click to give online & help me reach my goal of $2,000 ?
For years I wanted to complete a bike ride of the entire length of the Greenbrier River Trail in eastern WV. I had been on various sections of the trail over the years with my husband and daughters but I had never been able to plan a complete ride from Cass to Caldwell. That is until 2015 when I joined the American Lung Association of WV bike trek fundraiser. I biked the entire trail in 2 1/2 days. In the process, I met so many people and I had the time of my life!
For anyone who enjoys the outdoors, this event is a must! All of the logistics are taken care of for you: lodging, meals, snacks, & transfers to lodging each night after your ride. You don't have to worry about a thing, except riding that trail! (Oh, you also need to raise a minimum $550 for the ALA-WV). Almost any fitness level is able to complete the ride (I'm aging, not in the greatest shape of my life) on a mostly flat, gravel path... but, stamina and will are a must! I do recommend that you get out there and ride your bike before participating but, I will admit that I personally did NOT before my first trek! It made a difference when I did! Training will certainly help you enjoy the trek fully & ensure that you can complete each day's ride length.
So, here I am. Planning my 6th trek bike ride for 2020, & asking for donations for the ALA of WV. I am also asking for teammates! Want to join us? Mark the date NOW! Sign up here! Raise $550. Have a sturdy, light bike w/ fat tires & a required helmet. Padded riding shorts (a MUST, right Molly?? ;). Rain gear. Joy. Determination. A sense of humor & adventure! That's it. Then, show up on Thursday at the designated end of the trail, park your car, give your bike and gear to the shuttle and settle in for some fun. Once the ride starts, bike at your own pace (hence the name of the team, 'Your Pace or Mine'), take in the scenery, meditate as you pedal or talk with a friend you meet on the trail. It will be one of the best long weekends you'll spend. Trust me.

PS: I am biking to represent all those who suffer from lung disease, especially those who are close to my heart. Like my mom, Nancy. You can support me in my efforts just by donating. Your generosity would mean a lot to me and all those who benefit from the work of the American Lung Association.
Lung disease is on the rise and your donation would help fund research and provide education and advocacy efforts. One step at a time, you can help me bike for a better tomorrow. To help support my efforts, and to change lives, please click on the Donate button.
