On May 22nd, I will climb American Family Field (Miller Park) in Milwaukee with my teammates and others who want to make a difference in the fight for clean air and healthy lungs.
Why is this important to me?
Because Lung Cancer has hit home for me not only once, but three times.
First in 2008, our work family lost an amazing woman, Joyce. She was such a big part of my life for so long. Joyce could always make us laugh and knew how to bring a smile to your face. She had such a big heart and an infectious laugh.
In 2011 my family lost another wonderful woman, my great-aunt Donna, to lung cancer. She was an independent, hard-working individual, whose love of family and history helped me to become the person that I am today.
Then in 2015, we lost our cousin, Laura. She was a hard-working, single mother & grandmother, who was always there for you no matter what was going on in her life.
All three of these women are truly missed, and have left a big hole in our hearts.
On May 22nd, I climb for Joyce; I climb for Aunt Donna; I climb for Laura, and I climb for all others like them.
The Fight for Air Climb is committed to raising awareness and funds for the American Lung Association. 89 cents of each dollar donated will go directly towards research, advocacy and educational programs.
Now, we need your support!
Please consider making a donation to help the American Lung Association advance research into methods of treatment, prevention and, ultimately, a cure for lung disease.
Every donation, big and small, will make a difference. We know a lot about lung disease, but there is so much we do not know. Your donation will help to raise the funds necessary to provide life-saving education, research and advocacy, so we can beat lung disease and soon find a cure.
Thank you for your support!
