Imagine the impact if we could find a cure for those living with lung disease and their loved ones. I have joined the Northwestern Mutual team and the American Lung Association in the fight for healthy lungs and asking for your support.
I'm climbing for my Mom, who was diagnosed with Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF), a disease marked by scarring in the lungs and interfering with her ability to breathe. In some cases, the cause of pulmonary fibrosis can be found, but in most cases, like hers, there is no known cause.
IPF can develop slowly or quickly and there is no cure. Current treatments cannot remove scarring that has already occurred, but research supported by the American Lung Association and your donations will help ensure long-term commitments to lung disease research and help maintain a supply of scientists dedicated to fight this devastating disease. Research is about hope. In 2020, the American Lung Association spent close to $11.55 million in lung disease research. The American Lung Association values your gift with nearly 89 percent of your donated dollars will go to research and program services.
Please support in helping me reach my personal goal by giving a donation today! Normally the Fight for Air Climbs involve climbing stairs in tall buildings and I’ve made it twice to the top of the U.S. Bank Center here in Milwaukee. Looking to 2021, the event is moving outdoors and I’m confident to make the 1,824 stairs up & down at the American Family Field this year. While COVID-19 defined 2020, other risks to lung health didn’t take time out. That’s why every dollar I can raise towards my fundraising goal of $750.00 will enable the American Lung Association to continue its mission to save lives and prevent lung disease.
Please visit my personal web page for more information on why I’m stepping up in the Fight for Air Climb on May 22, 2021 and make a tax-deductible donation here: http://action.lung.org/goto/donnahiers.
Thank you for your generosity and support!
