Melody Higa is an Operations Analyst at Matson. She received a Bachelor of Science in Finance and International Business degree from Creighton University.
Her interest in volunteering stemmed from the life-changing experiences and purposeful learning that she gained while volunteering throughout high school and college. As the current Miss Hawaiʻi Volunteer, she aspires to share the importance of giving back to the community to ensure that future generations are well-equipped with the tools to succeed.
Melody lost her grandfather a few weeks before her first birthday due to respiratory-related complications. Working with the American Lung Association to raise funds for research, education and advocacy will assist in discovering new cures for diseases and implement preventative measures to ensure that members in our community lead long and healthy lives. She is honored to participate and contribute in the ongoing initiative to improve lung health in memory of her grandfather.
