Rachel Wagenman is a writer and digital marketing specialist with a love of storytelling. Today, she is the communications coordinator at her alma mater, La Pietra - Hawaiʻi School for Girls. She is proud to be a part of its mission of raising women of purpose, on purpose.
Previously during her 9-year career at Hawaiʻi News Now, she helped to grow the news organization’s digital presence and implemented innovative ways to reach audiences on new platforms in the ever-changing landscape of today’s digital media. She also served as lead producer on HI Now, the Emmy Award-winning lifestyle program.
Born and raised on Oʻahu, Rachel graduated from La Pietra - Hawaiʻi School for Girls and went on to attend the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa where she graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism and Women’s Studies.
If you’re a foodie, you may recognize Rachel from her reviews on Yelp! She has been a member of the Yelp Elite Squad for 8 years, and in her free time she loves trying out the newest eateries in town and supporting local.
Like many, unfortunately, lung health has affected Rachel’s family. Her grandpa died of lung disease linked to asbestos exposure. As he got older, breathing got harder and harder until he was on daily oxygen.
Today, Rachel works in a school for young women, and she is dedicated to helping raise awareness and funds to improve lung health for children and everyone in Hawaiʻi.
