Cheryl’s involvement with the American Lung Association in Hawaii is very personal. She lost her mother to lung cancer in 2018. However, Cheryl’s mom lived for 24 years after her first diagnosis. Cheryl believes they were blessed that her mother received such high quality health care and was able to benefit from protocols that could not have been developed without the research that is so vitally supported by the American Lung Association.
