Dr. Williams will present data to support the importance of addressing commercial tobacco use in mental health and substance use disorder treatment programs along with practical next steps for supporting commercial tobacco-free environments in these settings.

Learning Objectives:

1. Understand the prevalence and impact of tobacco use among those with mental illness and/or substance use disorders.

2. Recognize the role of mental health, substance use disorder, and public health professionals in addressing tobacco via treatment protocols and grounds policies.

3. Understand the benefits of providing tobacco treatment and creating a tobacco-free environment for mental health and addiction programs.

4. Understand resources available in MN to help professionals make such policy and procedural changes.
