The Climate Change Health Protection and Promotion Act would help provide health professionals and communities with the data, resources and best practices they need to plan for and address the health impacts of climate change.
Right now, climate change is putting Americans’ lung health and lives at risk. Our nation needs to cut the carbon pollution that causes climate change to avoid the worst impacts, but we must also deal with the health harms that are already here. These include:
- Worsened conditions for ozone pollution, which causes asthma attacks and premature death
- Extreme heat, severe storms, and other dangerous weather patterns that can exacerbate illness and cut off access to healthcare
- Wildfires and dangerous wildfire smoke that spreads for thousands of miles
The Climate Change Health Protection and Promotion Act would help provide health professionals and communities with the data, resources and best practices they need to plan for and address the health impacts of climate change.
Please urge your senators and representatives to support this lifesaving legislation today.
