About Our Honorary Chairs
Since 1982 Win Whittaker has been a mountain guide at RMI Expeditions. He has led trips around the world and has summited Mt. Rainier 182 times. His father, Lou Whittaker starter our program 30 years ago!
In 1988, Stacy Allison became the first American woman to summit Mt. Everest. In her current role as a motivational speaker, her mission is to inspire people to move beyond limitation and reach for their dreams.
Join us during the Climb for Clean Air as you reach the summit of one of our region's most prominent peaks. Climb for Clean Air is an exclusive mountaineering training and fundraising program designed to give you the training, technical support and guide services you need to summit these magnificent mountains safely. Since 1987, Climb for Clean Air has been available to people of all levels who are ready to take on the challenge of summiting a mountain. Funds raised by participants will support the American Lung Association of the Mountain Pacific’s mission of saving lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease.
This event is open to people of all skill levels who are ready to take on the challenge of summiting a mountain. We will provide you with training hike opportunities to insure you're prepared to summit the mountain. These are led by previous Climb for Clean Air participants who will offer guidance every step of the way. Most participants will be novice climbers who want to achieve this dream in a team setting with no prior climbing experience. Together, your team will train, motivate one another and provide important advice to make your climb as fun as possible.
On your climb, you will be led by highly trained professional alpine guides from Rainier Mountaineering, Inc. (Mt. Rainier & Mt. Baker) and our AMGA professional guides for our Mt. Hood climb.
Registration for our climbs is $250 which also go towards your fundraising goals. The minimum fundraising requirement to participate and have a guaranteed spot for your mountain is $3,900. This includes all professional guide fees, one nights lodging, team training hikes, our kick off party, team socials, plus discounts on gear!
