 Thank you for making the 25th anniversary for Reach the Beach presented by AAA a record year! We appreciate all the riders, volunteers, sponsors, donors and vendors that helped make this so successful. Be sure to join us next year for the ride on Saturday, May 21, 2016. Registration for the 2016 ride is only $25 if you register online by noon on Friday, May 22nd at

The American Lung Association’s Reach The Beach presented by AAA - one of  Oregon's premier cycling events - is celebrating our 25th Anniversary! Reach the Beach is perfect as a personal challenge or to ride together with friends and family. A top notch ride with amazing support that gives you four different start locations: Portland (100 mi), Newberg (80 mi), Amity (55 mi) or Grand Ronde (28 mi). We provide superb organization, beautiful routes, medical and mechanical support on course, eight lunch and snack stops and a magnificent beach party with a delicious, hearty feast. Reach the Beach is one of Oregon's premier cycling events. Spend the day exploring Oregon by bike.

Resources to make your fundraising a snap

RTB Riders TalkingWhen you ride Reach The Beach presented by AAA, you not only take an exciting physical challenge, you also take on the personal challenge of raising the additional funds required to ride in this year's event. By raising this additional funds for the American Lung Association, you can be especially proud of the extra help you have provided for the thousands who suffer from lung disease. >> Learn how fun - Fundraising can be.

Free Training Rides

Starting in 2015 the Portland Wheelmen Touring Club will conduct a series of training rides to help prepare you for Reach The Beach.  Just choose a training on the list - depending on your schedule and skill level - and just show up at the stated time and location to participate in these great rides. There is no fee and no advance sign up is required, but it is generally a good idea to call first to confirm the ride details.
