Fight for Air Walk - Middle TN

Asthma Sucks

I've had asthma since I was a baby. It hasn't been fun and quite frankly ....ASTHMA SUCKS!

Life is not "normal" for someone like me. As a kid, I couldn't have a dog because it would make me sick, and there were friend's homes that I could not spend time in because they would make me sick. A cold was never a cold, because it always lead to an asthma episode. Taking 5- 7 medications every day, just to try to be normal was hard and friends didn't always understand. Teachers didn't always understand and would sometimes criticize my coughing. Going to restaurants with smoking ALWAYS made me sick. I've had some serious hospitalizations. I've worked hard to live a normal life. I've educated myself about asthma and it no longer controls my life. I play sports, and know how to pre-medicate so I can.
People need to know that asthma can be controlled, but too many don't have it under control and death often occurs. I know that ANY attack can lead to death, so I do everything I can to stay on top of my illness; after all, I'll have it the rest of my life.
Last year, Asthma Sucks team raised $2,600. Over the last four years we have raised $9,300. That money is saving lives. My team's goal this year is higher...$2,600. Please help me fight this lousy disease, and the others who suffer from all kinds of lung diseases. Now more than ever people need our help. No one should have to go through the things asthmatics have to go through. Hoping for your next breath is not fun.

Join my team, or just make a donation. Every bit helps.

Thanks-
Andy
