Fight for Air Climb - Springfield, IL

Take a Breath

This will be the 3rd year for team TAKE A BREATH.  We started this team in 2009 as a way to raise funds for lung research as our loved one, Randy Cooke, was battling Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis.

Randy raised funds in 2009 for American Lung Association by climbing the Springfield Hilton!  Randy climbed the Hilton with less than 50 percent lung capacity while carrying an oxygen tank on his back!  Randy climbing in 2009 was very inspirational for our team and for many people in the community.  Last year Randy was not able to participate in the climb as the disease had taken more of his lungs.  Team  TAKE A BREATH climbed on.

I am happy to report that Randy received a double lung transplant in August 2011!  We are excited for his new lungs and look forward to seeing him climb this year!

No one should struggle to breathe and that is why we climb.

Randy struggled to breathe as he battled Pulmonary Fibrosis, until he received his new lungs in 2011.  This year we climb to help raise funds and awareness for lung diseases.  I hope you will please join the team!

Do something to push yourself and help a great cause!

Please either join the team and register for the climb or make a generous donation to the American Lung Association to support our FIGHT FOR AIR and Team TAKE A BREATH!

Thank you for joining this important fight for people of all ages who are battling lung diseases and want to breathe healthy air in our communities!
