The important thing to remember when you raise money for the Trek is that you are raising money for the American Lung Association to help the local community. Nearly 90% of the funds raised stay in our local community and the remainder supports nationwide education and research.
The American Lung Association has been fighting lung disease since 1904 and we are proud of our heritage. We started with the fight against tuberculosis as the nation’s first voluntary health organization, followed by leading the nation in tobacco control. Our focus today is on healthy air, tobacco control and all lung disease, including asthma and COPD. Please refer to the milestones we have achieved in the fight against lung disease.
We can help you reach your fundraising goal. We have literature that highlights our accomplishments and continuing work; press releases; tips for house parties and other fundraisers; and a video about ALA's work to share with your donors.
Important Note: All checks and money orders must be accompanied by a completed pledge sheet (located in your participant center).
All Trekkers are required to complete a check-in (Regular, Speedy or Winner's Circle) at Sunday River with ALA staff and volunteers.
Speedy Check In: Fewer lines and a faster process than "regular check in"! You must have turned in all required paperwork and $550 fundraising minimum by May 19th (postmark date).
Winner's Circle Check In: A special VIP experience for our top fundraisers! You must have a minimum of $1,100 in pledges PAID and all required paperwork turned in by May 19th (postmark date) to qualify for weekend of event perks!
Regular Check In: You may bring required paperwork and additional pledges to total your $550 fundraising minimum with you to the Trek to complete your check in process. You must have a total of $550 (paid or billed) pleges in your account at the end of check in to participate in the ride. Please do not mail any checks or paperwork to our office after May 19th.
