Garrett Corbin's Trek Across Maine Page

On Father's Day weekend I will be participating in my eighth Trek Across Maine. The Trek winds from Sunday River to Belfast over the course of three days. My dad used to meet me at the finish line, where we would celebrate the holiday as well as the incredible bike trip. This year marks my first Trek with more than a general lung health and exercise purpose - I am riding in part in my dad's memory, and in other part for Frank Callanan, the father of my good friends Zeke and Nick.
Frank is a terrific guy, was never a smoker, yet he contracted terminal emphysema/COPD. After being an athlete and coach, Frank now requires oxygen 24/7 and has trouble just climbing stairs. We are hoping, in addition to raising funds for the American Lung Association, that we can match each pledge to the ALA with one to help Frank's medical bills. We need to raise at least $500 for the ALA, so we are shooting for $1,000 in total donations. I've never raised that much before, and we have roughly a month to do it this year.
Lung disease, including lung cancer, asthma and emphysema, is the third leading cause of the death in the United States.
Please join me and my team (sponsored by the respective businesses of Zeke and Nick) in our effort to make a difference by making a personal or corporate tax-deductible donation.
Thank you so much for you support!
p.s. I did a week-long trip across Maine last year, photos are at schlepacrossmaine.blogspot.com
p.p.s. Some of us will be carrying rocks on our trek in memory of fallen soldiers for The Summit Project. See the following site for more information: http://mainememorial.org/
