To my friends and supporters --

31 Years and Counting

This June, I will be embarking on my 31st consecutive Trek Across Maine bicycle ride to raise money for the American Lung Association of the Northeast (ALA-NE).  I will be joining around 2000 cyclists as we make our way from Sunday River in the mountains to Belfast on the coast, taking in the beauty of Maine over three days.  I am extremely proud to be one of only three cyclists who have ridden in each of these Treks that have been held since 1985.  I have set a lofty goal of $5000 for this year's Trek and I would very much appreciate your support with a donation -- large or small -- to the American Lung Association.   This is an important milestone in my life every year, and I invite you to become part of it with me!

This year, I am very pleased to again be part of the Cribstone Capital Management team for the second year in a row.  We are a small but enthusiastic group who enjoy the ride as well as supporting a good cause.  Be sure to check out our team page!

Important Mission

I am also proud to be currently serving as a member of the ALA-NE's Maine Leadership Board.  This organization is Maine's oldest voluntary health organization, and for over the past 100 years has focused on the prevention and treatment of lung disease. While the American Lung Association has been at the forefront of reducing smoking as our nation's greatest preventable health threat, they have also successfully linked air pollution with lung disease in the eyes of policymakers.  The ALA has been at the forefront of securing the implementation and improvement of the Clean Air Act, one of our nation's most important environmental laws.  Your support of the Trek -- by making a donation toward my ride -- will aid this organization's education, research, and policy efforts at the local, state, and national levels.

Easy to Donate and Every Level is Welcome

Simply click on "Support Scott" above and make a donation today, or you can email me at scott@MapleBB.com to make a pledge to contribute after the conclusion of the Trek, where you will be billed by the American Lung Association.  A "Support Scott" donation to ALA-NE is welcome in ANY AMOUNT, but a pledge must be a minimum of $25.   You are also welcome to send a check IN ANY AMOUNT payable to "ALA" directly to me at 11 Inn Road, Hallowell, ME  04347.   Importantly, all donations are tax-deductible as charitable contributions.

THANK YOU for supporting this important event.  After 31 years, I continue to enjoy the experience and the opportunity to raise needed funds for the mission of the American Lung Association.  Thank you, in advance, for supporting my ride!!
