It's official - Ironing Season 2017 is in full swing. I am doing the Bike Trek to Shakertown again. IRON WILL is officially a tradition!
This year will be the third year I am riding in MEMORY of my father, Mr. John J. Hutchins. My Dad passed away in January 2015 after fighting lung diseases for 13 years. The man with the IRON WILL pressed on through 13 years of pulmonary fibrosis, years of COPD, and months of lung cancer. Through it all, Mr. Hutchins never stopped, never gave up, and always kept going - full steam ahead. He never let a limited lung capacity stop him. And here I am with all the lung capacity a girl could dream of and I won't let it go to waste. I'll use it to raise money for the American Lung Association!
This photo is from August 2014 - This was the summer of his lung cancer diagnosis. The cancer never stopped him - he kept going to his exercise classes, made the most of time with his friends and family, and impressed us all with his "Hutchins determination." What a man!
Please consider sponsoring me in my trek... It's tax deductible and every penny counts. As John would say, "It all adds up!"
