Filming for documentary "One Simple Question" in La Hune Fjord, Newfoundland

Thanks for visiting my fundraising page! I am a 29-year-old middle school science teacher and varsity cycling coach living in St. Louis, Missouri and I am thrilled to be a part of this incredible journey!

A cross-country bike ride is a challenge and an achievement for anyone who tries. I choose to ride because it's an opportunity to make a contribution to an incredibly worthy cause-- the American Lung Association-- an organization that does wonderful work fiercely defending the Clean Air Act, fighting asthma, tuberculosis, lung cancer and other lung diseases, and helping smokers to quit. I have been living with asthma since I was a child, and I am proud to have overcome the challenges it's presented over the years. Additionally, my partner lost his grandfather to lung cancer and I have known many others who struggle with asthma. It is on their behalf that I take on this challenge!

My fundraising goal is $9,900 or three dollars for each mile that I ride. A portion of the fundraising minimum goes toward trip expenses, and I have already donated to cover those myself to guarantee to my donors that their contributions will support the American Lung Association. That means that I will rely on the generosity of others for about $7,400 of my total goal!

Please follow my blog and facebook page for updates throughout my training and ride!
