It's easy to take breathing for granted - until you can't.

As an asthma sufferer myself, the American Lung Association's Reach the Beach ride has always been close to my heart. That's why I'm riding again this year.

I'm secure knowing that while I'm covering the miles to the Oregon coast on my bike, the American Lung Association is using the money that I and thousands of others have raised to find a cure for lung disease.  Someday it's my hope that no more funds will be needed because asthma and other lung diseases are a thing of the past. But until that day comes, every year I will ride as hard as I can to raise funds for research toward a cure.
