Team Stab Plus has raised more than $230,000 for the Fight For Air Climb in Philadelphia over the past seven years. In 2017 alone, they raised more than $61,000. The team was started by Mike Carr in honor of his good friend, John Stabilito, who suffered from COPD. Following John’s passing in 2010, 636 Team Stab Plus members have climbed in honor or memory of loved ones who lost their battle with lung disease and for those who still struggle. Their list, of those lives affected, is 25 people and grows every year.
We climb for Susan Warmerdam, our team captain and Citadel employee, fighting her own battle against stage 4 lung cancer since 2012. Doctors told Susan, who has never smoked, that her condition was inoperable and incurable. She fought to be a miracle patient - completely changed her diet, responded well to chemo, had three surgeries and is currently off all treatment. We are honored to have Susan on our team and proud to support her and all those battling cancer at the Fight for Air Climbs!
