a day camp for children with asthma

Active with Asthma is a fun, activity-filled day camp! Trained medical and program staff will teach children about asthma, physical activity, medications, nutrition, how to avoid triggers, asthma action plans and more. Camp includes exciting activities and off-site field trips. Open to children between the ages of 8-12, diagnosed with asthma and taking daily medications.

Active with Asthma would not exist without the generous time and support from our volunteers! We have a variety of volunteer options -- for camp counselors to serve as a team lead for the entire week, medical staff to provide education and expertise, and volunteers that can join us for a day or more to lead activities. Camp Counselor
Camp Counselors volunteer for the entire week of Camp, June 20-24. Campers are split into three groups throughout the week, and Camp Counselors serve as the Team Leads for each group. We're also looking for several Camp Counselors that can serve as overall Camp Leads -- running activities and keeping us on schedule throughout the week! This is a great opportunity for college students.

Medical Staff
Medical Staff assist in providing daily education; lead Camp games, arts and crafts, and other activities; and provide a valuable source of asthma knowledge for campers and Camp volunteers. Healthcare professionals (RN, RT, MD, PharmD, etc.) are welcome to join us for the entire week or a day or two, as their schedule allows.

Camp Volunteers
We know that not everyone is able to join us for the entire week of Camp to serve as a Camp Counselor, and not all of our amazing volunteers are healthcare professionals to come as Medical Staff. Camp Volunteers assist in daily activities, arts and crafts, games, and field trips. Join us for a day or a few days!
