A life of distinction and adventure!

Roy David Pinckard graduated from La Puente High School in 1976, when he was an Eagle Scout. He served in Army Intelligence and was stationed in Germany as a cryptologist from 1976 to 1982. He received a Bachelor of Science in Police Science from California State University, Fullerton in 1984. He served with distinction as a police officer for the Ontario Police Department from 1981 to 1985.
His three children Alicia, Vincent, and Jennifer say he was an amazing dad. He gave his kids unforgettable memories from annual fishing trips to June Lake, Yellowstone, Grand Canyon, Yosemite, Mount Rushmore, cruises to Alaska, Mexico and Bahamas to Niagara Falls, Hawaii, where they went white water rafting (where he almost drowned, giving the family an unforgettable story to share with their kids!) and so much more. He taught his children to try everything and do everything in life, not to be afraid because you may only get one chance to do it, and not to live with the regret of missed opportunities.

Roy and Peggy dated in high school, but lost touch after he graduated. As he traveled the world in the Army, he got married and had a family, became a police officer, and then a traffic school owner. Eventually, they would find each other again and marry in 2009. They loved taking cruises together and traveled to the Mexican Riviera, Alaska, the Caribbean Islands, and Victoria, BC. They would take epic road trips, visiting light houses along the West Coast, visiting Santa Barbara, the Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon and Sedona, Arizona.

Roy's intrepid spirit's journey has finally found peace. He passed away on May 3rd at 8:18 pm. Everyone who helped him along the way shared what a great guy he was, unassuming and gracious in every encounter. He will be missed by his wife, Peggy Huber children Alicia, Vincent and Jennifer, grandchildren Donny, Alyssa and Little Vincent, his siblings Joe, Therese, Chenta and Sandy, his fellow Homeowner Association board members and Traffic School Owners Association where he served as president for more than 20 years, and many, many friends.
